Lindsay Degen
DEGEN
Designer Lindsay Degen began creating her knits at the age of three when her grandmother gave her a set of knitting needles and taught her how to stitch. In pursuit of mastering her skill set, Lindsay attended the Rhode Island School of Design as well as Central Saint Martins in London. After graduating Degen moved to New York City to create her crafty, concept-based collections under the namesake DEGEN.
DEGEN has won the coveted Ecco Domani Fashion Foundation award as well as being listed as one of Forbes Magazine’s 30 Under 30. In addition to her own work, Lindsay has worked to create knits for many other designers including Tommy Hilfiger, EDUN, Tania Taylor, Misha and Puff, and VPL, and has taught classes at Parsons School of Design, Pratt Institute, and the Rhode Island School of Design.
In 2016 DEGEN began hand piecing and hand quilting, balancing her first love of knitting with her new ability to explore color and texture in a larger format. She is so excited to make her quilt show debut with Piecework Collective.
DEGEN currently resides in Providence, RI where all of her pieces are conceptualized and brought to life.
